Under the Bambrella Levante, an afternoon does whatever it needs to. Enjoy a sunny day in comfort with shade, whether you’re having Sunday lunch or watching your kids debate trampoline turns.

Where it's used

At home, this is a garden parasol for a family table, terrace, poolside, or even right in the middle of a large garden – all of which can be gets proper daily use. If coordinating your outdoor design with any wooden furniture is your preference, the Bambrella Levante will get along seamlessly. Place a few plants around your outdoor setting then it looks like the image on the right side.

If you’re thinking of using this bamboo parasol in a commercial environment, then here’s something more for you.

It’s just as at home on commercial ground: the Levante’s chic, with its stainless steel fittings is a regular choice for hotels, restaurants, cafes and pubs that need a commercial parasol able to stand up to service every day, not just look good on delivery day. Bespoke valance branding is also possible, ensuring that a hospitality order can feature a logo or brand color without appearing out of place.

Buying for a business rather than a garden? Head to the dedicated commercial parasols site for hospitality pricing, site surveys and bulk orders. Everything else on this page, sizing, materials, base guidance, applies the same either way.

Shop by shape and size

Explore our parasols by shape and size to find the ideal fit for your outdoor space. Choose from square, round, and rectangular designs for the right balance of coverage, style, and practicality.

Square bamboo parasol

Square sits neatly over a square or rectangular table without wasting an inch of it, every seat gets covered, corner to corner. It also just looks right over a square table, in a way that’s hard to explain until you’ve seen a round canopy on one and noticed the gap. Best for formal courtyards or tighter spacing where the coverage needs to line up exactly.

Round bamboo parasol

The round Levante is the shape most people picture when they think “parasol.” It suits a round table naturally, but it also works well simply planted in a lawn or a border, with nothing underneath it at all, which the square and rectangle shapes are less suited to. There’s something a little more relaxed about a round canopy over a garden that isn’t laid out on a grid.

Rectangular bamboo parasol

A long dining table, run of sun loungers, or a terrace that’s wider than it is deep — that’s where the rectangular-shaped parasol canopy earns its place. Two sizes are available, 2.0 x 3.0m and 2.5 x 3.5m, and both are built to cover a footprint that a round or square canopy simply can’t reach without going oversized.

However you configure it, the Levante sits within Shade Specialists’ wider wooden parasols range and its windproof parasols range — worth a look if you’re comparing bamboo against other wooden-style frames, or comparing wind ratings across models before you decide.

How it works

The opening and closing operation is managed by a single rope, moving in two directions. A simple downward pull on one side raises the canopy until it locks into place, while pulling the opposite side brings it back down without resistance. There are no cranks to turn or mechanisms to jam.

More about this wooden parasol frame

Built from laminated bamboo, the Levante frame combines natural character with dependable strength and durability. High-quality stainless steel fittings provide lasting performance, while the frame is wind-tunnel tested for added confidence. Replaceable ribs and canopy components also make maintenance simple and cost-effective.

Bamboo parasol frame

The frame behind that simplicity is a single piece of laminated bamboo for the mast, ribs, hub, runner and finial, fitted with 304 stainless steel hardware that won’t rust or seize as the seasons pass. Even when subjected to 90km/h winds in a wind tunnel while bolted to the ground, the frame remained intact.

As a rule, please do not leave any parasol open in winds over 20mph (unless it’s fitted and bolted down by a Shade Specialist Expert). Ensure the canopy is closed whenever it is not in use.

Finial

The finial sits at the very top of the laminated bamboo mast. It’s built up from the same laminated bamboo strips rather than turned from a single block. It’s a small detail, easy to miss from the ground, but it’s the same construction logic as the frame underneath it: laminated for strength, not just carved for looks.

Replacing broken frame parts due to misuse is easier

If a rib ever gets damaged, it can be replaced individually without taking the frame apart. The canopy fabric comes off the same way, for cleaning, storage, or replacement down the line.

Accessories

Parasol accessories are optional add-ons to this bamboo parasol. Should you require any of these, be sure to add this to the cart.

Heaters

Fits onto the central pole (supports poles from 25 to 55mm) and keeps the space underneath usable once the evenings turn cold. On cold, rainy evenings with the parasol open, a 3KW parasol heater provides warmth.

Saturn LED Light for parasol

LED lighting

The Bambrella Saturn LED clips onto the frame, runs off a rechargeable battery with a dimmer switch, and gives around six hours on a charge. Turns the spot you sat in for lunch into somewhere you’d choose to have dinner.

Valances

A trim around the canopy edge, from a clean straight cut to scalloped styles, available as a bespoke option through the configurator. Mostly about how the parasol looks rather than how it performs, though for a hotel or restaurant order, it’s also where a logo or brand colour goes. See printing and branding for commercial branding.

Protective cover

Worth using whenever the parasol is stored or standing idle for a stretch. It slows fading and keeps mould off the canopy, which matters most on the higher fabric tiers you’re paying a premium for. Browse protective covers.

Canopy Materials

The Levante comes in three canopy tiers, priced and guaranteed differently, so the choice is really about how long you want the fabric to keep pace with the frame.

Polyester / Acrylic (1-year guarantee) is the entry point, piece-dyed rather than solution-dyed, meaning the colour sits on the outside of the fibre rather than running through it. It’s a strong, crease-resistant fabric and a genuinely fair option if you’re working to a budget, offered in two natural shades, beige and ecru, since darker colours fade faster at this tier. Looked after, it tends to outlast its own warranty.

Bamcrylic® (3-year guarantee) is the industry standard for hotels, restaurants and hospitality sites, which tells you most of what you need to know about how it holds up under daily use. It’s solution-dyed all the way through the thread rather than just on the surface, which is what gives it more resistance to fading, plus good stain resistance, water repellence, and a UPF rating of 50+, blocking over 98% of UV. Comes in fourteen colours.

Recasens® (5-year guarantee) is the top tier, matched to the same warranty length as the frame itself, so buyer and product are covered for the same five years end to end. It’s the widest colour range on this model, eighteen shades from white through to admiral blue, and it’s the fabric most people choose when they’d rather make the decision once and not revisit it.

Replacement canopies for this model are available through replacement parasol canopies. Individual ribs can be replaced without disassembling the frame — for parts beyond that, get in touch with the team directly via contact us rather than assuming it’s self-serve.

Base Guide

A parasol is only as stable as what’s holding it down. Get the base wrong and even a well-built frame will rock in a breeze, or worse, go over. Get it right and you stop thinking about it.

Going through a table — If the parasol passes through the middle of a sturdy table, over 20kg, a lighter base is enough, since the table itself is carrying some of the load.

Free-standing — No table, or one too light to help. This needs a heavier base on its own, particularly anywhere that gets more than the occasional gentle breeze.

Ground-fixed — Set into a concrete-filled hole, around 70–80cm deep. The strongest option, and it clears the base out of the way entirely while cutting the trip hazard.

Rule of thumb: if your table’s under 20kg, go free-standing rather than through-table. Somewhere that regularly sees gusts over 25mph, size up from the minimum. And if it’s staying put long-term, ground-fixed tends to beat free-standing.

Through a table (20kg+)

FAQs

How much wind can the Bambrella Levante handle?

The frame was wind-tunnel tested up to 90km/h, bolted and secured to the ground as it would be on site. As a working rule, don’t leave any parasol open in winds over 20mph unless it’s fitted and bolted down by a licensed contractor, and always close it when it’s not in use.

Yes. It runs on a double pulley-and-rope system: pull down on one side to open, the other side to close, with no cranking and nothing to jam halfway.

The frame and hardware carry a 5-year guarantee. The canopy guarantee depends on the fabric tier chosen: 1 year on Polyester/Acrylic, 3 years on Bamcrylic®, and 5 years on Recasens®.

Square (2.1m to 3.4m), round (2.5m to 4.0m), and rectangle (2.0 x 3.0m and 2.5 x 3.5m). Every size and shape uses the same laminated bamboo pole and 304 stainless steel hardware.

A single piece of laminated bamboo for the pole, ribs, hub, runner and finial, fitted with 304 stainless steel fittings that resist rust and seizing over time.

Yes, every Levante needs a base unless it’s set into the ground. Through a sturdy table over 20kg, a lighter base such as 25–30kg is usually enough; free-standing needs a heavier base, generally starting at 50kg, sized up further in exposed or commercial locations. See the base guide tab for weights by size.

Yes. Individual ribs can be replaced without disassembling the frame, and the canopy fabric can be removed and replaced separately, through replacement parasol canopies.

Yes. It’s Bambrella’s best-selling design and one used widely across hotels, restaurants, cafes and bars, with bespoke options including valances for branding. Commercial and hospitality buyers can also view the dedicated range at commercial.shadespecialists.co.uk.

A bamboo parasol like the Levante uses laminated bamboo rather than solid timber for the pole and ribs, which gives it more strength for its weight and better resistance to warping over time. It sits within Shade Specialists’ broader wooden parasols range for anyone comparing timber-style frames side by side.

Yes. At up to 4.0m across in a round or 3.4m square, it’s built as a large garden umbrella, sized to cover a full dining table or a wider terrace rather than just a couple of chairs.
