Details

The Stellar Auto Tilt Aluminium Teak Finish is a fast and easy wind up parasol, that can be operated using a crank and tilt handle. It has increased resistance to corrosion and scratches from transportation or storage due to the aluminium frame and pole, powder coated in a teak wood finish. No matter where you decide to place it – in your back garden or maybe on your pub or restaurant terrace, this 3m crank and tilt parasol will be on duty, shading and sheltering whilst looking great in the same time.

Operation

– To wind up this parasol, you simply start turning the handle clockwise until the canopy opens completely.
– Continue with this movement and the frame will begin tilting until it reaches the desired position.
– Before tightening the base screw, turn the parasol on its axis to find the best shade. Make sure you don’t forget about the base screw after, because this will lock it in place so it won’t be spined by the wind.
– To close it, turn the crank handle counter clockwise and the canopy will begin folding to its initial position.

Materials Used

The frame – the aluminium pole, frame and fittings are made using quality aluminium alloy. To add even more resistance to this, it was chemically powder coated with a finish similar to teak wood.
Powder coating – the main benefit is durability. This type of coating is more durable than other options, like wet paint, because it forms a chemical bond with the metal and creates a flexible finish.
The canopy – the Spuncrylic used is a polyester type of fabric that was solution dyed to make it water repellent and more resistant to direct sunlight fading. It offers an affordable option for an all weather type of canopy. Read more in the ‘Canopy’ tab.

Shapes and Sizes

The Stellar Auto-Tilt Aluminium Teak Finish comes with a Round (octagonal) shaped canopy sustained by 8 ribs and two size choices – 2.5 metre and 3 metre.

Fixations

This parasol can be either freestanding, either it can go through the hole of your table. If it’s freestanding, then we recommend a heavier base (50kg) to make sure it won’t be blown by the wind. If it’s going to pass through the table, you can opt for a smaller base, 30 kg.
There are three types of bases, depending on the material or budget.
  • Granit base (30kg simple or 50kg with handle and wheels)
  • Plinthit base (easy to store and transport, with 2 x 25kg plastic sandbags)
  • Concrete base (50kg, with two pullout handles and wheels)

Accessories

To make the most out of your wind up parasol, you can add it a set of heaters and LED Lights. These are available only by phone at the moment.

LED Light

Rechargeable battery included, with over 6 hours autonomy. Provides enough light under the canopy for activities such as reading or cooking. They can fit on any parasol, using a hanging wire.

Heater 1500

Three headed heater, 500W each, can spread short infra red waves in a 360 degree area. Easy to fit on any centre pole parasol, it can support pole diameters ranging from 25mm to 55mm thickness. See more parasol heaters here.

Usage

The Stellar Auto-Tilt Aluminium Teak Finish is a parasol designed for commercial usage, as well as for home gardens. It is a practical wind up parasol with many features – a crank and tilt handle, a wood finish, a wide canopy that is highly resistant to rain or sunny days and more.

For commercial premises like pubs, restaurants, cafés, it can play a big role in the design of the space: you can make it stand out, it can highlight your brand if you print it on the canopy, or it can simply blend in with the environment. Anyways, a good shade or shelter will always be appreciated by your clients.

Spuncrylic®

Spuncrylic® is a polyester which has been through a process called solution dying. Solution dying is a technique used to add colour to a synthetic fibre. Solution dying ensures colour is all through each thread before its woven, guaranteeing a higher quality and more vibrant colour. Solution dying gives polyester a high-level resistance to fading from direct sunlight. Spuncrylic® possesses excellent stain resistance and is water repellent. Spuncrylic® offers an affordable canopy option which provides resistance to all weather conditions. Spuncrylic® delivers a *UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) of at least 50. *UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor), Indicates the fraction of the sun’s ultraviolet rays that penetrate fabric. Example, Material with a UPF of 50, allows just 1/50th of the sun’s UV radiation to reach your skin. The higher the UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor), the greater the protection offered. All the premium parasols sold on the Shade specialists website are built to last, which is why we use Spuncrylic for our choice of material opposed to a standard polyester cover which fades in some cases after just a single season.
