The Santa Ana Side Wind is a practical rotating and tilting cantilever parasol and one of Bambrella’s strongest umbrellas.

The Bambrella Santa Ana Side Wind parasol is the smaller of our aluminium cantilever parasols, but the size is no match for its durability. With a geared winch system, the Santa Ana Side Wind makes it effortless to operate. This parasol has a strong aluminium frame, making it stable, reliable, safe and perfect for if you live in windy areas. With a 360 degree rotating base and a 45 degree canopy tilt, you can choose how much sunshine you let in. The base has adjustable feet to make minor adaptations to the stability of your parasol, should the ground be slightly uneven. Pair the frame with one of our wide range coloured canopies, and choose how much you want your parasol to stand out from the crowd in a commercial area, or blend in with the theme of your private garden.

Bambrella Santa Ana Side Wind Tilting Cantilever Parasol

Details

Artisan design, remarkable functionality, quality handmade workmanship and precision-made components perfectly describe the Santa Ana Side Wind cantilever. It features a 360-degree rotating parasol base and a 45-degree tilting canopy, so you can still find shade whilst enjoying your morning coffee or your dinner.

Operation

Thanks to a simple patented winch system, you can open and close your parasol in no-time: just rotate the winch handle clockwise to unfold the canopy and and create the shade you desire, or turn it counterclockwise to collapse it when not in use.

Should you wish to better adjust or rotate your cantilever parasol, the fixation contains a bracket that allows this type of movement. Loosen the securing screws at the base, turn the parasol in the desired direction and don’t forget to place back the screws so the wind won’t spin your umbrella

Materials Used

Bambrella’s engineers tested this parasol in a wind tunnel to examine the durability and strength of the frame, simulating storm-like conditions and proving it can resist challenging wind speeds of 125 km/h, as you can see in the video.

The frame – lightweight yet strong, it’s crafted using high quality aluminium along with stainless steel fittings. This way you can be sure that neither fade nor rust will ever cause problems.

The canopy – with 3 available materials to choose from (Polyester, Bamcrylic and Recasens) and 20 colours for the canopy, the main feature of the vented canopy is that it can be tilted on a 45-degree angle, making the Santa Ana Side Wind a practical and stylish cantilever parasol.

The bases – either you can select our weighted metal 4×4 cross base with granite weights or the in-ground base. With both options, there is a foot pedal to allow the cantilever parasol to be rotated.

Spuncrylic® Parasol Cover Material

Spuncrylic polyester is the industry standard for hotels, restaurants and any other hospitality location.

Spuncrylic offers customers:

  • A polyester which has been through a process called solution dying, a technique used to add colour to a synthetic fibre.
  • A solution dyed canopy colouring through all layers of the polyester thread, guaranteeing more vibrant, longer lasting colour.
  • A high-level of resistance to fading from direct sunlight.
  • A canopy which offers good stain resistance and water repellence.
  • An affordable canopy which provides resistance to all weather conditions.
  • A canopy which delivers a *UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) of at least 50.

*UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor), Indicates the fraction of the sun’s ultraviolet rays that penetrate fabric. Example, Material with a UPF of 50, allows just 1/50th of the sun’s UV radiation to reach your skin. The higher the UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor), the greater the protection offered.

Polyester Canopy Cover Material

The standard, piece dyed polyester is the entry level parasol canopy and one you will find most commonly on parasols available on the high street. The standard polyester is a great option if you’re working on a budget. While it only comes with a 1 year warranty, if looked after, it should last well beyond that. Polyester offers customers:

  • Polyester is a strong fibre, resistant to creasing and keeps its shape.
  • Polyester is piece dyed meaning the thread is only coloured on the outside of the canopy, like a radish!
  • Offers an affordable alternative to Spuncrylic
  • Shade Specialists only offer polyester covers in two natural colours, beige and natural as darker, stronger colours would be more susceptible to fading over time.

Recasens RECacril® Parasol Cover Material

The acrylic recasens material is the rolls Royce of canopies. Made from strong, hard wearing acrylic material. The recasens canopy offers the top level of protection from the elements Recasens offers customers:

  • A high-performance acrylic fabric of the very highest quality.
  • The very best water resistance and protection from the sun.
  • A matieral used extensively in the boating and marine industries for its strength and durability.
  • An Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) of up to +80 according to international standard UV 801.
  • Low reactivity and high stability offering long lasting protection against mold, plus excellent water and oil repellence.
  • An effective sunscreen as they filter a high percentage of ultraviolet radiation.

    I know all parasols offer the same shade. But what interested me about this product is the five long years of warranty, which means I can stay worry-free for a long time. The handle makes it easier to open and close the parasol. Good quality parasol as well!
